Alexis Wineman

For those of you who aren't familiar with Alexis Wineman, she's  one of the contestants for this years Miss America. What makes Alexis stand out a bit more is something pretty incredible.

If you look close on her sash you'll see a blue puzzle piece. That's the symbol for autism. Alexis is 18 and one of the youngest women ever to compete. She also has PDD-NOS (Pervasive Developmental Disorder – Not Otherwise Specified). Which has some but not all of the traits that autism has.
